The relevant specialist of the State Commission for the Protection of Economic Competition of the Republic of Armenia are conducting monitoring with a two-day interval on a number of product markets of the first necessity in order to obtain operative information on tendencies of the price assessments. Under the "Statistics" section is presented summary information of the Commission's activities and the results of monitoring carried out by the Commission in the 12 lager retail shopping units covering varied product markets, as well as their comparability with the prices formed in international markets.
Monitoring is carried out in the markets of petrol, diesel fuel, bread, flour, pasta, rice, sunflower oil, butter, sugar, dairy products, meat, chicken eggs and coffee. The basis for monitoring is the largest shopping units of retail trade in the city of Yerevan which operating under the general taxation regime as the significant portion of retail trade in Yerevan falls to their share, and, therefore, the price assessments’ trends formulated here provide a reliable and overall picture of current situation on the market.
Whereas the availability of the mentioned products in the market is ensured through import, therefore, the prices of respective products in the international markets are essential for the formation of local prices. It is for this reason, that in conjunction with the results of monitoring prices in the local market are presented price trends in international markets for the same period of time and the main reasons that led to an increase or decrease in prices.
The data are presented on a monthly basis, both in the form of tables and graphical drawings.
