Introduction to the Law
 
The draft law of the Republic of Armenia "On the Protection of Economic Competition" (hereinafter - the Bill) was developed by the Government of the Republic of Armenia and the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Armenia. The process of drafting the Bill with participation by experts of the Armenian-European Center for Economic Policy and Legal Advice (AEPLAC) and the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Armenia lasted almost two years.

The Law on “Protection of Economic Competition” of the Republic of Armenia (hereinafter - the Law) was adopted by the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia on November 6, 2000. The Law was verified by the President of the Republic of Armenia on December 5, 2000.

Relevant changes and supplements to the RA Law on “Protection of Economic Competition” were introduced on June 28, 2002 (HO-398-N), October 23, 2002 (HO-436-N), December 25, 2003 (HO-29-N), May 26, 2004 (HO-86-N), May 4, 2005(HO-91-N), May 23, 2006 (HO-74-N), February 22, 2007 (HO-107-N), September 30, 2008 (HO-168-N), December 26, 2008 (HO-227-N), April 12, 2011 (HO-137-N) December 12, 2013(HO-185-N) and March 23, 2018 (HO-249-N).
